Features, The 1040 was Technics Top Of The Line when released. 5.1 Channels rated @ 100 Watts per channel = 500 watts total output. 3 Digital Optical inputs. Highly rated Phono input pre-amp. Multiple video inputs but no HDMi input or output. Bi-amp speaker capability. Tape monitor circuitry, AM/ FM digital tuner w/ 30 preset capability.
This Technics has been serviced and inspected. Service included cleaning all knobs and switches. Cleaning the coolong fan. All circuit boards have been inspected. Re-assembled and fully tested.
Testing shows this receiver can be used as a Surround Sound Home theater receiver with 100 watts per channel. I find these older Audio/ video receivers work great as a 4 channel stereo system for phono tape deck, Laserdisc as well as CD connectivity. This is a great sounding receiver with lots of power.
Physical condition is excelent with only a few lite scratches visible on the top of faceplate and metal cabinet.
This series of Technics receivers are built with a cooling fan but we still recomend no stacking anything on top of this receiver.
